Eduardo Mayeya

With a background in sports practice since adolescence in disciplines such as parkour, Kung Fu, and various martial arts, Eduardo Mayeya began his formal practice and research within Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) in 2017.

Since then, he has been an active presence in the scene, participating in numerous seminars and tournaments both inside and outside his country. He has traveled to places such as Spain and Poland to further his training and broaden his knowledge of HEMA. In 2022, he became co-founder and instructor of Arthenea Historical Fencing, a group dedicated to martial study, cultural dissemination, and competitive sports.

From 2022 onward, his sporting participation has repeatedly placed him on the podium of several national competitions.

Currently, his martial training follows three main lines of work:

Director of the Study Group in Mexico of the Academia de la Espada, led by Master Ton Puey, specialized in the tradition of La Verdadera Destreza and the Montante.

Artes de Palestra study system, an international alliance of fencing schools presided over by Master Pedro Velasco of the Pedro Monte Academy.

Line of study on the use of the saber according to the Mexican manual of Simón de Frías.
